Seashell Soap

Every year millions of tonnes of seashells are discarded by the fishing industry. Rather than see these unloved seashells go to waste, we decided to upcycle them into an eco-friendly material that forms the basis of our distinctive Annings soap.

Discover the hidden wonders of our sustainably sourced British scallop seashells, transformed through Anning’s secret method into a luxurious, eco-friendly soap. Delicately crafted to promote skin health, our soap not only lasts longer but integrates the remarkable benefits of marine collagen. Known for its restorative properties, marine collagen enhances skin elasticity and hydration, providing a youthful glow. Embrace the fusion of nature's generosity and our innovative processing, designed to benefit both your skin and the planet.

Handcrafted in the UK, naturally

Originating from the rolling hills of Dorset's Jurassic Coast, Annings is a family-run artisan soap maker that uses a traditional cold production process. We spent years in our soap parlour tinkering with natural ingredients to create skin-loving soaps that blend seashells, herbs and essential oils.

We take a simple and honest approach to life and we craft our soap in much the same way. Our soaps are handmade with care and pride in small batches. Each ingredient is selected to nourish, replenish and for their divine floral and earthy fragrances.

Our traditional skincare remedies are natural and cruelty-free. They contain NO ‘nasties’ such as artificial or synthetic ingredients, plastic, palm oil, parabens, triclosan, phthalates or SLS.

Founded for the sea

We wanted to create a soap that we could use every day. One that cleanses and replenishes. A soap we were proud to tell our friends and family about. Where we use resources sparingly and recycle endlessly — to heal, not harm the earth and its oceans.

Annings embarked on its journey in 2014, driven by the critical problem of excessive waste overwhelming the oceans. Choosing to turn discarded seashells into a tool against microplastics carved the path forward. This ethos remains unchanged, with a strong stance against plastic use. The commitment extends to all products, including soap and packaging, which are entirely free of plastic, continuing the fight to prevent plastic from polluting the ocean.
